Halloween Look: 'The Joker' by Ariel / @theevanitydiary

Halloween Look: 'The Joker' by Ariel / @theevanitydiary

We asked our friend Ariel (@theevanitydiary) to create a look for us just in time for Halloween --- the Suicide Squad inspired 'Joker'. He not only provided us with the end look, but some in-process shots as well as a quick how-to. Check it out in the quick overview below!

The Process

I start off by moisturizing skin with Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentre. After that, I go in with some NYX Pore Filler to have a smooth canvas to work on. Once this is applied, I wipe eyebrows with alcohol to make sure there are no oils on them, then go over them with Elmers stick glue, and set it with Ben Nye Colorless Face Powder in neutral.

After that, I applied some white cream makeup all over face. I used both Make Up For Ever HD Stick Foundation in white, and Ben Nye Professional Clown Series. I use the Body Blender by Beautyblender, because it gives me a bigger space to work with. Make sure you bounce the sponge, so it doesn’t drag the foundation off!

I then go in with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Cream Kit in Fair, to cream contour; and Kevyn Aucoin sculpting powder, to set the cream contour and further deepen up the hollows of my face and make it look sunken in (forehead, cheekbones, nose, eyes, jawline, and collarbone). I also used Stilazzi Matte Eyeshadow MS-48 on my eyes as well as Viseart 01 Matte eyeshadow palette.

I then went in with Mehron Paradise AQ Prisma Blendset Shadow and did a rough sketch of the facial tattoos, and applied Ben Nye lipstick in the shade wicked plum as an eyeshadow base and in the waterline, as well as on my lips. Make sure the edges are blended out to appear messy!

After that, I sketched more tattoos on chest with the Ben Nye eyebrow pencil in taupe.

I then filled the tattoos in with Mehron Paradise AQ Prisma Blendset Shadow and then went over everything with Ben Nye white powder to make it look as if the tattoos were under the skin, as opposed to on it. I then applied my wig from @powderroomd with Ben Nye Spirit Gum adhesive, and some blue Solotica contacts in ‘marine’. I also went in with the Skin Illustrator Necromania palette to add veining around the eyes and hand tattoo details.

The “grills” are done with aluminum foil with some black liner in the gaps to shade. If you have fillings --- don't do it, k? *ouch*

My hand was done with the Mehron Paradise AQ Prisma Blendset HotMehron Paradise AQ Prisma Blendset ShadowBen Nye lipstick in the shade wicked plum & the Viseart 01 matte palette. When I was done, I took it all off with Koh Gen Do cleansing spa water.
