Frends Beauty to Beast Artist Spotlight: Matthew Mungle

Frends Beauty to Beast Artist Spotlight: Matthew Mungle

Because half of our Frends Beauty To Beast shoot is special fx, we simply had to ask our friend Matthew Mungle to come on board. And we are so happy he agreed to! You know how to tell someone is a very humble master of his craft? Ask him to tell us about a staple in his special fx makeup kit, and he doesn't say anything about his own line of special fx makeup. We asked him lots of questions actually...check them out below!

Frends Beauty To Beast Artist Spotlight: Kristofer Buckle

Kristofer is a force to be reckoned with. Some of the other people here at Frends Beauty have known him for quite some time, but this was my first time meeting him. When he enters a room, all eyes are on him. Kristofer has worked with some amazing artists like Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Madonna, Britney Spears, Cher, and more. He is an absolute perfectionist and loves dramatic, classic glamour. He's also a collector of vintage makeup like original Max Factor and Steins. We asked him some questions about his career, check them out below.

Frends Beauty To Beast: Team 1

Frends Beauty To Beast: Team 1

Choosing which Beauty To Beast ad to launch the series was tough. We had our own internal struggle that ultimately went to committee. Each team was so incredibly talented, and their work was stellar. In the end though it came to us - summer is ending and Halloween is coming. By now you’ve seen the ad and you know what I mean. Carlene K and Eryn Krueger Mekash melded these two seasons (yes Halloween is a season to us) onto the same face.

Beauty to Beast, an introduction

Beauty to Beast, an introduction

Supplying professional hair and makeup artists for over 75 years, we understand that the art of makeup does not end at glowing skin, long lashes, and sun kissed cheeks. Don’t get us wrong we love that part of this business; but take a moment to think about some of your favorite shows - The Walking Dead, American Horror Story, etc. Heavy makeup is involved in creating those blood thirsty zombies, killer clowns, and mutilated villains. Each amazing makeup look is created in steps. You can’t create a monster without foundation of some sort, right?
